When we were stuck at home, we were desperate enough to leave the house with a cranky tween in tow. We did all the things to make sure we were healthy, which included exercise and fresh air. It also included some laughs. This kid of ours is a character and sometimes that makes for an entertaining afternoon itself but try and get him off his screens and out into the wild…well, he gets a little wild in our video below.
Our backyard is the Santa Monica Mountains so we chose a short hike in Malibu, part of the Backbone Trail on Piuma Ridge.
There’s free limited parking available right off Las Virgenes Rd. as it crests into Pacific Coast Highway and turns into Malibu Canyon Rd. There are several trails to sort through.
