We spent Spring Break in San Diego and stayed for three nights at the Ocean Park Inn located on the border between Pacific Beach and Mission Beach on the beautiful coast of San Diego.
It’s still a family-owned hotel that’s been around since 1967. But the family has shaken the dust off the old model and gutted the inside to create a mid-century meets beach house chilled out vibe. Art installations from photographer John Cocozza and others fill the rooms in unique round frames and line the halls. The lobby showcases contributions from local artists including an art installation by Randall Engstrom of Randall’s Sandals and ocean-inspired tabletops in the dining area by Brett Olson of Wave Surface.
The pool and hot tub just got a new home in the refreshed deck where the boys spent time gazing at the sun as it set behind the pier.
