Other Essential Travel Baby Gear

Don’t forget about travel strollers, travel high chairs, and baby carriers!

Travel Strollers

On the go, having a lightweight, foldable stroller can be a game-changer. Many travel strollers are designed to fit in overhead compartments on planes, making them incredibly convenient for travel.

When my babies were big enough, my favorite for travel was a simple umbrella stroller, like the Cosco Umbrella Stroller with Canopy. Look for strollers with a compact design and easy maneuverability to make your trips smoother.

Travel High Chairs

Another travel essential we recommend is a portable high chair like the Summer Infant Pop ‘n Sit, which can be incredibly handy when traveling with a baby. Look for high chairs that are easy to fold and lightweight. Additionally, spending a little bit more on the best travel gear for your baby, like Bibsters, best-selling disposable bibs that catch crumbs, can make feeding times cleaner and more efficient.

Travel Baby Carriers

Finally, a good baby carrier can be a sweet, snuggly way to bring baby everywhere the family goes. I loved carrying my little guys around in our trusty Baby Bjorn. Though our editor preferred the Beco Baby Carrier with its fold-away infant head support. Besides being convenient, it’s also like giving a baby hugs all day long. And who doesn’t love that?

Tips for Getting Little Ones to Sleep on Vacation

If we haven’t said it already, traveling with little ones can be challenging, especially when getting them to sleep in a new place. Here are some tips to help your child have sweet dreams while on vacation:

Stick to a Routine

Try to maintain baby’s usual sleep routine as much as possible. This includes keeping nap times and bedtime consistent with what they’re used to at home. This was not fun at Club Med, but my husband and I alternated nap days and slept with the baby when it was our turn.

Bring Familiar Items

Pack baby’s favorite blanket, stuffed animal, or crib sheet. Having familiar items can help your baby feel more at ease in a new place.

Use White Noise

A white noise machine can be a lifesaver when trying to get your child to sleep in a noisy hotel room or unfamiliar place.

Keep it Dark

Use blackout curtains or a sleep mask (for older kids!) to keep the room dark, which will help your child fall asleep and stay asleep longer.

Stay Calm and Patient

Traveling can be overwhelming for little ones, and it might take them a bit longer to settle down. Stay calm and patient, and give them the comfort they need.

Finding the best travel crib for your family can make all the difference on your next road trip or vacation. If your child has a safe and comfortable place to sleep, you can also sleep better. Remember to bring along familiar items, stick to routines, and create a cozy sleep environment to help your little one get the rest they need. With the right gear and a little preparation, you can enjoy stress-free travels and make lasting memories with your family. Safe travels and sweet dreams!
